Rock & Folk : "A rock unlike anything else today" ☆☆☆☆ — Jérôme Soligny

Clash Magazine: "A psychedelic journey blending influences from the '60s and '70s."

Louder Than War: "Impulsive, hypnotic, and vibrant."

It’s Psychedelic Baby Magazine: “Primitivo Astral tapped into something ancient and cosmic”

Fueled by psychedelia, garage, and post-punk, CAPSULA have carved a visionary and magnetic path through the international rock ’n’ roll scene.

Albums like Rising Mountains (BCore, 2009), produced by Ivan Julian (Richard Hell and the Voidoids), and In the Land of Silver Souls (BCore, 2011), produced by John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr.), received critical acclaim from Rolling Stone and Little Steven’s Underground Garage, where their track "Wild Fascination" was chosen as the “Coolest Song in the World.”

Throughout their career, CAPSULA has performed over a thousand shows across Europe, the United States, South America, and Asia, leaving their mark on major festivals such as Primavera Sound (Spain), Austin Psych Fest (USA), and SXSW. They’ve shared stages with legends like Iggy Pop and Pearl Jam, channeling raw electricity and forging an unbreakable bond with their audience.

In 2013, they released Solar Secrets, produced by Tony Visconti (David Bowie’s producer), an album that marked a turning point and captured the band’s cosmic, untamed essence.
They have also performed multiple live sessions at the legendary KEXP Radio in Seattle, where their raw, electrifying energy left a lasting impression on both listeners and crew.

Between 2016 and 2019, Capsula teamed up with the French label Vicious Circle, releasing three records that expanded their sonic universe: Santa Rosa (2016), Dreaming of Ziggy (2017), and Bestiarium (2019).
The label —home to bands like Slift and Mars Red Sky— was the perfect partner for a period of creative explosion. Those were years of touring, fuzz, delay, and psychedelia: a journey that pushed the band’s sound further, exploring new mental territories and testing their energy to the limit on every stage.

In 2022, the band embraced full independence with Phantasmaville, recorded and produced in their own studio —a new milestone in their artistic evolution.
Their most recent album, Primitivo Astral (2024), received widespread international acclaim:
Rock & Folk (France) praised it as “a rock sound with no equivalent today” (☆☆☆☆), while Clash Magazine (UK) described it as “a psychedelic journey blending influences from the ’60s and ’70s.”
Louder Than War (UK) called it “impulsive, hypnotic, and vibrant,” and It’s Psychedelic Baby Magazine (Italy) noted that Primitivo Astral “tapped into something ancient and cosmic.”

Blending the passion and intensity of South American rock —in the spirit of Pescado Rabioso— with the ferocity of Black Sabbath and the cosmic mysticism of David Bowie’s golden era, CAPSULA continues to push the boundaries of contemporary rock.
At every concert, the band and its audience merge into one vibration —volume, energy, and pure communion. Each show is an electric ritual where time stands still, and the shared experience becomes the beating heart of CAPSULA.

Primitivo Astral

Released in October 2024, Primitivo Astral represents a high point in CAPSULA's 25-year journey. This electrifying album combines raw energy, cosmic vibrations, and a sonic exploration that bridges the best of rock's past and present. Tracks like "Spelling Love", "Estrellas Dobles", and "(In the Garden of) Narcissus" showcase their ability to hypnotize and surprise.

The album’s title embodies the blend of the earthly and the cosmic, uniting heavy psych, post-punk, and stoner rock with a futuristic vision. According to Martín Guevara, "Primitivo Astral is a journey where riffs are always the cornerstone of everything we do. It’s a fantastic journey, an inner voyage in the format of a cosmic comic strip, with few words that shift between languages as if they were beings from tiny planets observing and synthesizing."

Coni describes the album as "a crossover between what feels ancient and what feels like science fiction, a constant balance between the familiar and the unknown." She further explains, "The context is the unreal, the intangible—the possibility of understanding our surroundings through the fantastic. Music has always been our way of exploring, but it’s also a reflection of our transformed reality."

The songs were created with complete creative freedom, as the band had total control over the studio environment. This allowed them to experiment with textures and innovative dynamics. Martín notes, "We’ve learned to combine visual material, fantasy, and memory on the road—it’s part of our dynamic." Coni adds, "This album has a raw, direct energy and a special force."
