Since 1997, Capsula have been purveyors of various classic rock sounds of the 60s and 70s. Garage, psych, kraut, glam, post-punk – you name it, they’ve incorporated it into their extensive catalog. Their mastery of these genres is evident in their latest single, “Tierra Girando,”featuring three minutes of non-stop action thanks Ignacio Guantxe’s locomotive-chugging drum beat, Martin Guevara’s droning, shimmering guitar work, and Coni Lisica’s pulsating bass lines.
Capsula will premiere the song live next month at SXSW in Austin, TX, where they are scheduled to perform and preview material from their 11th studio album Santa Rosa. The trio is also scheduled to perform at SXSW’s Opening Day party with a special presentation of their David Bowie tribute album Dreaming Of The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars. Fun fact: the band recorded their 2013 album Solar Secrets with producer Tony Visconti, who worked for decades alongside Mr. Ziggy Stardust himself.
Santa Rosa drops April 29 via Vicious Circle.
